Lenny
Hi Amy and Jennifer, Attached is a picture of Lenny hard at work this morning! Just wanted to let you both know he is doing exceptionally well. We are all madly in love with him. I believe he feels the same way! We are un-boxing things this morning at the store and he likes to lay right in the middle. He loves it when his pack is all together! Steve and I will never be able to thank you both enough for letting him come into our lives. Hugs from all of us.....Kathy |
Phoebe
Thanks so much for such an incredible experience today. Who knew I could experience love at first sight??!!... It was great to meet you both...and I truly respect all your efforts to place dogs in loving homes. You can rest assured that Miranda (our Phoebe) will be well loved. We spent the entire afternoon outside with her walking, playing in the backyard, introducing her to all the neighbors, etc. She behaves as if she's been with us always . . . and everyone comments on how comfortable she seems. The kids are over the moon ecstatic with our new dog, the absolute perfect girl they are convinced Again, thank you. A big thanks to you, Jennifer, for sending along the picture and videos. They are wonderful to have . . . and it was great to be able to share the first moments with Phoebe with the kids. I've attached a picture of the kids (Lydia, Rose, and Caleb) with Phoebe for fun. Thanks again... Gina S. |
Ricky
Jennifer, Note: Ricky was found running in rural Georgia and ended up in a small shelter. Luckily my friends are the Advocates of this shelter, so Ricky was brought to my attention. No other rescues would take on a Pit bull with heart worm. I had him treated at my wonderful clinic where I have a grant to treat rescue dogs with heartworm and then he came North and fostered with me. Out of the blue this woman called me about ANOTHER dog I steered her to Ricky. Well, the rest is history. Friends this makes it ALL WORTHWHILE! |
Dear Barbara,
I'm writing to reassure you that you have nothing to worry about in adopting a dog from Jennifer. I have just had one of the most wonderful experiences in my life, thanks to Jennifer, in providing my mother with a wonderful little dog who needed a good home. My mom lives in the independent living cottages of a retirement community near me. She moved there two years ago with her 11 year old Bernese Mountain Dog, Angie. (The facility has a 20 lb limit but they allowed Angie as I explained just how crucial Angie was to my mom's happiness, especially after my father died.) Unfortunately, Angie died this past spring. My mother said her life had no purpose now. I had been warned by people in my dog club that many rescue groups will not adopt to older people. I wasn't having any luck until I found Jennifer. I explained that I needed a quiet dog that my mother could walk herself. I wanted her to able to care for the dog as much as possible but that I am available to help out or to take the dog into my own home if it becomes a problem for my mother.
Jennifer found a dog for us and last Saturday we met the truck in Danbury. It was so exciting. Mabel, who Mom renamed Molly, has changed my mother's life in about one day. She was everything I was told and much more: completely housebroken, friendly, and loving. She follows my mother all around her home, has been perfect when she's left (only about an hour a day) and slept on the bed next to Mom from the first night. My mother can't stop saying what a darling she is.
I know there's a certain leap of faith you take when you send money sight unseen but this is not a case where you have to worry. My husband referred to Jennifer as a "saint." You are in very good hands. Enjoy the wonderful, happy experience that's ahead for you.
Any questions, feel free to call me.
Adrianne B.
Jennifer, I would like to give you examples of Savannah's great behavioral improvement, but it is very had to improve on a such a perfect dog to begin with. There have been absolutely no issues of any consequence. She behaves beautifully and has adapted to her new life with ease.
I didn't think it was possible to bond this quickly, but she has obviously identified me as her partner. We have gone to the dog park several times. She interacts with the other dogs in a friendly, if somewhat reserved manner. And I can be in a group of people and when called she comes immediately to my side. And when it is time to leave, she walks to the gate beside me without a leash - much to the envy and admiration of other dog owners. To show you how well we are doing, I had purchased some inside gates at Lowe's to restrict her movements inside the house. Yesterday, I returned them. We won't be needing them. |
Jennifer,
Thank you so much for all you have done for FCHS though! It has been a wonderful help to us and the dogs that we were able to save with your help.
I wanted to share photos of the ones who have been helped so much by your help with heartworm treatment for FCHS.
Regards,
Jess
Note: This is from a North Carolina Shelter. Leader of the Rescue Pack offered free heartworm treatment to it with a $10,000 grant received from a Sponsor.
